>>57817535If Haruka's VA didn't get sick and wasn't forced to retire, thus preventing Haruka was ever returning again, odds are pretty good that May returns in XY to meet Serena and shill ORAS and contests. As such, we probably see May's contest outfit years earlier than we did in our timeline. There might be some light Satoharu teases in that return, but since the XY staff was firmly committed to Satosere as semi-canon, they definitely wouldn't go too far, though you might get some jealousy from Serena at the start via some misunderstanding. May probably tells Serena about contests and Serena tells May about showcases, if Serena has her Eevee already then it and May's Glaceon bond, and some kind of practice battle or showcase/contest training ensues. Rather than waiting till the end of XYZ, maybe May's the one who plants the seeds in Serena's head about going to Hoenn afterward.
Besides this, May returns in JN as the Glaceon trainer for Chloe to meet, taking the place of the COTD Glaceon trainer they had to invent for Chloe instead.
