I'm going into Journeys as openminded as possible, though I know opinions on it seem to be divided around here. My big complaint from the outset, which will likely be repetitive as it goes on, is that Ash seems to somehow have even less personality than he did in SM. While Ash also had five other characters to prop him up, however, here he only has Goh, and then later Chloe, but not yet. Goh is cool and interesting, and I can't wait to see more of him, but I don't know if he's strong enough to carry Ash like a backpack like he needs. Otherwise, good shout to Chloe's Yamper for sensing Ash's evil and trying to kill him.
Side tangent: Reading through Shudo's novel and his portrayal of Delia, I definitely feel a lot more irritated at just how quickly Ash drops her at the beginning of every series now, all while she prepares him brand new shit. Also, condolences to Uncle Mime for having to take care of Delia's retarded son and his gay best friend. Mimey's not just the stepdad, he's the dad who's stepped up.
