>>55807983Hmm. Making the attack struggle to pass doesn't sound right, otherwise it would lead to attacks that completely fail to hit the target thanks to that split-second delay which could result in the opponent moving away, or counter attacking etc.
Maybe it'd be better if the reflect screen succ'd half the move's glow as it passes through. This would visually demonstrate that the move is weaker, while not leading to speed inconsistencies.
>priority movePriorities 100% do not translate outside of game logic. Imagine we were 100 miles apart, and at the same time as each other you used Quick Attack while I used Swift. Swift's gonna land first, even if you swapped out Quick Attack with Extreme Speed or Sucker Punch.
>but I guess they have to prioritize the writing (which IMO is still not excusable if I was writting a battle)It absolutely isn't excusable. We've seen the writers show that they can incorporate game mechanics into the anime properly if they wanted to. Like another anon's said, Conway's whole deal was utilizing the real mechanics as they were meant to be used. But whether it's the writers or the people in charge of them, they just don't care enough to actually try.
I wish I was born in the timeline where they cared about the mechanics.
