BW didn't magically make people want to use Kanto Pokemon in a new game. That people actually believe that shows how delusional and easy to manipulate the fanbase is.
Pokemon is full of revisionism, just like "oh we hated we couldn't transfer our Pokemon to RS." It's BS, nobody gave a fuck, the fanbase just grew out of the series.
TL:DR, play every game you can get your hands on, that's the only way to see all biases in the fandom.
