>>58366030More does not always equal better, the Team Rocket segments are the worst despite having a ton of battles because the quality of battles is worse, and the post-game of GS is great despite it just being a speedrun of Kanto because it's just a breezy victory lap. Similarly, the main campaign of BW is better than XY because it's shorter and doesn't waste your time trying to hype up something only to fumble the ball during Tyrano Lair to Zeal segment and instead culminates in a series of reasonably difficult battles. And even if it didn't, the post-game then provides an opportunity to change the design concepts around and also add a few more harder fights which guess what is the same type of thing Gen 2/HGSS does. So with BW you either have less but more fun gameplay if you stop after the credits, or slightly more and generally more fun gameplay if you do play after the credits. This isn't even getting into B2W2 having even more variety, with opportunities to use more of the many more Pokemon in the game with Type Expert tournaments and certain medals, PokeStar Studios having a puzzle solving element, Black Tower/White Treehollow providing stakes to the basic gameplay and some mild navigational challenges, and a few nice legendary hunts that the series has been slowly reducing the effort they put in to it after this entry. Not everything is a winner, BW's Black City/White Forest are terribly designed and both Battle Subways have a True Ant problem exists, but XY's Battle Maison has even more design issues and that's about all it has going for it at this point so that's really not good. HGSS for the record has a ton of nice extra stuff as well, but is more willing to go in to minigame territory which I don't mind in the least (shame Gen 5's minigames were exiled to Global Link). If I had to put some fun to gameplay ratios up there HGSS and B2W2 would have similar ratios, BW would be a bit below RS due to the weaker campaign, and XY would be barely above DP.
