And for why the older soundtracks are so difficult to find, I think it might be a label issue:
https://vgmdb.net/org/392Media Factory Inc published the FRLG, DP, HGSS and BW soundtracks under “Pikachu Records”
https://vgmdb.net/org/1216Started with BW2, The Pokemon Company published the soundtracks themselves with Overlap Inc as the distributor. So the 4 older soundtracks published by Media Factory might be out of print because they don’t want to print any more copies whereas the TPC-published ones have stayed in print because TPC themselves have control. This doesn’t hurt FRLG since all of FRLG’s soundtrack is found on the newer Red and Green soundtrack, but DP, HGSS and BW are boned atm
