They’re just fundamentally the same game, and most of the Plat content that casuals commend is stuff they barely engaged with. Most of them just parrot what old completionists praised about the changes, outside of surf speed which really is a valid complaint about DP for everyone.

Ironically I remember DP’s postgame getting more engagement than Platinum’s back in the day. Gamefreak locking several new pokemon to the postgame transfers/island/radar/trades/exploration was more of an incentive to casual players than playing hours in the roguelite gauntlets.
