So the only Westerners who'd have any reason to target the TPC official most connected to and responsible for Amourshipping would be either Mistyfags or just unaffiliated Serenahaters. It's worth recalling that, by this point in the show, there was no indication that Misty would be making an appearance, so one could theorize that desperation took hold of them and led to the nasty threats. But again, unless someone saved any of those replies or acknowledged them at the time, it's all guesswork. A bad initial translation made people think it was Serenafags themselves who threatened the XY director, but context and timing makes that seem incredibly unlikely, coupled with the corrected translation.
