Then Weavile felt it. The fault line. The weakness that had grown in the groove of its continuing attacks. Each one had been an erosion of the mountain that was its opponent. Each one had been disregarded as foolish flailing. The next attack would not be ignored.
As the Golem turned to face its foe it was surprised to see that it wasn't there. A wild howl drew its attention upwards to the Weavile high above. Its sharp claws swung down as it fell with the weight of its leap.
Crack!
Its hardened nails carved into the space where the hard stone shattered and widened apart. The smooth rock was torn rough as it was hewn. The claws that had previously glanced off its prey now caught into the jagged pieces as the Weavile was forced to pull, to tear its attack through the Golem until it was free again.
As it came to a stop, the Weavile didn't even look back. It didn't need to as it heard its foe collapse. It flicked its claw to fling the pieces of the Golem off."
