The genies are not really that creative, but no one seems to hate on the lake trio for the exact same reasons, so this issue is not really a Unova issue
I see your points, not much to debate. I ersoanlly think the unova games are like one big package with the most attention to every detail and player experience, and that that element of playing a game isn't really present in X and Y, and plenty of other Pokemon releases
There are exceptions to everything I said, but exceptions don't disprove tendencies.
