>>51631583>Because appearance matter in the animeAppearances means shit if the character with that appearance doesn't line up with the overall design. You completely neglect the meaning of Character Designs in favor to get off on Waifu-level bait.
One of the reasons why Marnie has a bad design instead of Iris who is a good design is because Marnie's appearance conveys a wrong impression of her character overall. First time I saw her Design, I thought she is either a bully dressed like a K-rated Punk or just a spoiled girl with a narrow perception of the world, not a Moe-bait who stands out by her lacking capability to smile naturally.
Literally all the Main Girls before Gen 8 literally entailed what we were presented with.
>Ever wonder why many people consider Clemont to be better than Sophocles despite the latter had more character development unlike Clemont who's character revolve around idealizing Ash?First off, both are almost equally good Design and Writing-wise.
Clemont got only fucked over by Yajima's bad direction work, but even someone who sits down and doesn't speedwatch like you speedtype, knows what Clemont had enough going for himself:
You get a guy who geeks over Science and is otherwise a pretty grounded guy who has to look after his Sister. The anime also builded on the conception of him returning the favor in the best interest of his friends, or in general his kindness extending to anyone he cares. He returned Ash's motivation for his work and fascination for Science by giving the thing that Ash loves the most: Battling. He left the group, trained with his pokemon at the gym, reconnected with Heliondisk to take advantage of Ash's unfamilarity with it. In JN? He was ready to help out Sirfetch'd once he was aware of the problem of it not being able to master Meteor Mash. Sophocles is a good character, but his growth is just falling off or never peaks at some point to be noticable.
Understand what Character designs are or gtfo, Famon.
