>>51493403>>51493446Both XY and JN has bad or at the very least wanky writing. Only reason why XY excels in some of it is because they actually followed up on them from a standpoint, unlike JN where the staff just puts it out and hope it rolls with the current issue or case.
XY had the overall better choreography in battles and gestures even before the personafrog season but with a shitty typing treatment present from the day onward of the first Gym Battle. JN got the Typing system and tactics more akin and faithful to the games (Aka Diantha's Team and Tactics), but lacked the prowess displayed in both decisions and plays of all 4 participants in most of the episodes(The two trainers and their pokemon.).
XY made the exposition dump dynamic into the fight when something of a out-of-the-box plays occurs like when Ash destroyed the Trick-Room with X-Scissors due to the Bug offensive advantage over Psychic, while JN eats it up for more than a minute in most cases, especially rising with the latest episodes to the M8 ones.
XY has many things wrong, but the more JN goes on as it is now, the more positive or overlooked things in regards to writing stand out.
