>>53147003The trial missions at the very least were good for Goh's character growth and had a fun, adventure-like feel to them. Yes, I wish there had been more of them and the characters involved would've had more time to develop. Gary was supposed to come back earlier than he did, and have some battles with Goh to test him, but Idk if that would've been a part of the PM arc. What's weirder is they apparently had a plan for Goh in the beginning, with him being more heavily involved in PoGo-related activities, but that for whatever reason was scrapped. I blame some of the mess on covid, staff changes, Koharu being pushed more into focus with Eevee when neither Ash nor Goh's storylines were getting the time they needed as it was, and the last minute decision by some executive to animate all the M8 battles when resources and staff were already spread thin. PM19 had a lot of potential and it's frustrating so many really exciting ideas went to waste.
