Gen 1 from his point of view is interesting. Always one step ahead of you, winning as much as you, yet with the exception of the possibly the Oak's lab battle and the 1st (optional) Route 22 battle, cannot beat you. He just became Champion only for the one kid who can beat him to show up. He is on a 5 to 7 losing streak against you at the start of the champion battle.
Silver sucks at first but starts to redeem himself near the end.
11 year old me got a crush on May when I played Emerald. Was obvious how nice she is and I felt bad when Scott showed up after the battle before Fortree. Wally was the bait and switch rival but I never saw him as one. Brendan is a dick. I am glad ORAS let the rival get the 3rd evolution. Not having that battle in RSE was disapointing. Never played anything after gen 3. Actually I tried XY and thought the group was cool but slowed the game down too much. Nemona seems ok. Battle autism plus actually having some weakness similar to Wally.
