>>57171066This is actually a good question. As far as I remember, Ash's inner monologue boils down to him repeating "hang in there Pikachu, you can do it, Bulbasaur, you just gotta, we can do it!" and other random Pokemon battle slogans during Pokemon battles.
So you'd have to really expand the way he internalizes his experiences...yeah Brock would be way more interesting to listen to.
It would force the writers to make Ash more intelligent unironically since...you get the impression that Ash never accumulates any retrospective during the show, I hate to say this but Ash is kind of a static character for a narration role since it would be listening to him repeating some code or something over the episodes.
You'd unironically have to introduce a reoccurring rival like Giselle who'd appear occasionally so you could get a more elaborate reaction out of Ash and him comparing himself to her.
For example, his internal monologue about Gary would get old fast if Gary appeared often, it would be some kodomo version of the Naruto VS Sasuke rivalry so you'd need a more complex dialogue like Ash vs Giselle
