>a test of courageThat sounds pretty smart. Koa would probably have the trialgoers come up close and personal with his own partner Kommo-o, nicknamed Mo-o. Despite being a rather affable Pokémon most of the time, Mo-o would put on a scary act while the trainer in question has to be brave and face Mo-o head on, maybe, feeding him up close or something?
It's more that I want to think about what kind of trial would work realistically in-game, too. My metric for writing is "write something that would fit in the games" so if I make Koa's trial super-elaborate I'd risk Gary Stu accusations.
On that note, Koa would probably have to befriend and connect with Trial Captains and Kahunas to pitch the idea of a Dragon trial and get the position in the first place. Maaaaybe I might write that or something?
