every single type has at least one other line that remains completely unused by the gym leader teams, so it's weird for someone like koga to triple up on one line when poison is the most common type in kanto

>>54166806this one's an odd one because they chose types that straight up didn't have enough reps to fill up a team even with their entire lines (except fighting), so there really isn't a way to give them a proper monotype team without changing their types (though agatha is already a poison-type trainer in denial, and lance might as well be a flying trainer)
if they wanted to go for the "elite four members only partially specialize in a type instead of fully" schtick they could have at least given them good, fitting team members instead of slapping NFEs onto who are supposed to be the strongest trainers in the region and calling it a day. it's kinda funny that lorelei is the only one that I'd say has a genuinely solid team despite the fact she's supposed to be the weakest member
