>>57659705>SM storyYou literally just babysit Lillie who is the actual MC of the game so she keeps interrupting your gameplay. You're just a smiling nobrain retard who functions as her personal plot vehicle. Gladion is interesting but barely interacts with you, Hau has literally no personality other than "he is friendly" and "he likes malasadas so much he can't stop fucking talking about them"
Story climax happens all of a sudden and ends as fast as it started. You just storm the Aether HQ, fight a couple of goons, also Guzma is there for some fucking reason? "Ultra Space" is one single corridor
Also Lusamine isn't actually evil she just had jellyfish brain poison :)
>SV storyArea Zero gets teased early on, there's several sources saying that Heath's Book was complete fiction, but you keep seeing conflicting information which makes you doubt what's real or fake
You slowly get to know the three main rivals instead of all of them immediately treating you like your bestest friend ever the moment they meet you. Everything falls together as you finally get to enter Area Zero, which is a huge area with a sublime, otherworldly atmosphere. You still don't really know what's up with the professor but something is definitely fishy as hell
We find out the truth about the professor, and it's still ambiguous if they were evil, insane, or actually good hearted but misguided and became too obsessed with their work
SM isn't bad by all means, but SV is so much better executed as a story, especially based on character writing and how the characters are implemented into the story. I wanted to like Lillie but the game kept forcing me to figuratively hold her hand in the most annoying way possible and made it clear that she was the MC, not me, I was just allowed to be a mute retard
