as the game continues to accelerate, consistency becomes more valuable than power because a single wasted turn generally is the difference between winning and losing. silvally is stronger than espeon ex, only worth 1 point, and is colorless so it can be ramped into a turn 3 swing, but even with gladion to search silvally, espeon ex is just way more consistent so it's the better deck.
stage 2 decks are the antithesis of consistency, so they're falling off hard.
