>>58210731Hoenn feels more like May's story than Ash's until battle frontier. Ash doesn't have a rival in this series, his main ace doesn't evolve until post league and his gym battles are mostly forgettable except maybe Tate and Lizas for thunder armor ass pull.
Visually, hoenn is when towns become copy pastes of eachother and the characters start to suffer from same face syndrome so it's not as appealing there either.
There are some interesting episodes, two godzilla refrence episodes involving a rare candy that turns pokemons into giants, Harley is a massive cunt to May and theres an episode where Max finds a clone of himself also named Max.
I say skip to Sinnoh since Ash and Dawn bounce off eachother more naturally and the focus is divided better between Dawn's contests and Ash's rivalry with Paul. The battles are still slideshow but the gym battles are varieties of good (except maybe Crasher wake, that ones forgettable).
