Not counting any Psyduck stuff, I think May wouldn't have any problem with Misty's pokemon besides the Gyarados. Her Munchlax already beat a Politoed with Solarbeam in one of the Battle Frontier Contests, the one Harley beat her in.

I thought he'd be boring and one-dimensional from the trailers and when I met him in the preview. Like "oohoohoo this is a sooper professional trainer from da isle of armor" and that he and Klara would have fundamentally the same personality.

So it was a nice surprise that they kind of saved him up for the dlc. He's pathetic but in a good way. I would flatter him to the utmost until hes blushing and then bully him in bed and top him all night

When I was 6 I got a puppy, before that my parents had named all our dogs (Harley, Sadie, Pep) so I was very excited that I'd get to name this one myself. I named him Totodile, after my favorite starter Pokemon. My parents understood the gravity of their error in letting me choose the name, but compromised by legally naming him Toto and letting me call him Totodile. He was a good boy.

That's an really good point to make as well; if anything Ash rarely had meaningful interactions with Drew and Harley (although his Sceptile did get some advice from the former)...while the likes of Morrison and Tyson never really registered for May to interact much with them anyway.

It's also worth noting that Dawn had her own supporting gallery of rivals and others such as her mum and the princess. The closest thing May has to that is Drew and Harley, heck her dad just becomes irrelevant outside of a mention in the Scizor episode and James' impersonation in the Hoenn GF.

Avery is more like Harley and Klara is more like a mix of Ursula and that one Teddiursa from the Johto series.

I don't see any scenes of Drew mistreating May. All his teases in early Hoenn were kids stuff, then he changes around the Wynaut ep into the Hoenn GF and into mid/late BF. Also Drew started to become protective of May when Harley was around.
