The decision to axe Misty dates allegedly to early 2001 and given the production period of the eps, it seemed a few weeks after Shudo's decision to get rid of her, the writers were basically like "oh shit, let's try and use Misty more" so you her Corsola capture, Whirl Cup, the aforementioned eps and Politoed evolution. But I think the staff pretty much knew they fucked up and felt it was too late.
>>55515420I'm not talking about May appearing again, I'm talking about her character arc during AG kind of follows through from Shudo's approach to human characters. Like I mentioned, AG187 where Harley, Drew and May all end up sort of understanding one another and decide to go to Johto mirrors how Shudo's idea of a finale before the "Pokemon vs Humans" thing was TR and the twerps "understanding" one another and befriending each other.
