He's another dime a dozen, tryhard, plot armor wild card that shows up with the sole purpose to beat Ash/one of Ash's companions. All that hardwork and journeying is thrown completely out the window for no reason. Harrison, Tyson, Zoey, Tobias etc, are pointless because we never see their journey and their growth. Reminder that Claire's gym battle took place in a water filled arena where all of her Pokemon had the complete advantage over Snorlax and Harrison had to reflect Snorlax's own Hyper Beam back at it to beat it. Win rate really isn't indicative of how strong a Pokemon is.

These statistics aren't even win rate. They're the number of Pokemon knocked out and the number of times they were knocked out. The big difference being that any match that isn't 1 on 1 is usually going to end with every Pokemon being knocked out aside from the last one. The statistics are skewed toward Pokemon who are used last and in 1 on 1 battles.

Let's take Snorlax, for example. Here are his three loses:
>Snorlax has a long battle with Claire's Kingdra, then Gyarados finishes it off because it's tired
>Snorlax beats up Gary's Arcanine and Nidoqueen, then gets finished off by Scizor because it had taken so much damage from the other two
>Snorlax knocks out Harrison's Hypno and Steelix, then gets finished off by Houndoom because it was worn out

Even though nobody's ever managed to defeat Snorlax without throwing multiple Pokemon at it, it still gets marked at 73% because most of its major battles are 6 on 6 (or 2 on 2, in Clair's case). Meanwhile, Ash had a tendency to save Infernape for last, so it was still standing at the end of most of its battles.

The only league rivals who fit in this mold are Gary, Morrison, Paul, Trip, and now Alain. All of these are characters introduced before the League who go lose to Ash during the League. Ash also battles all of these characters before the League starts, and loses to them all.

Harrison, Jackson, Tobias, and Cameron never battled Ash before the League and that's what spelled his doom.

Even though, Shota's schtick is that his team is made to counter Ash's, that's what makes him dangerous. He could have been defeated by Tierno of all people if the fatso had had a Mega.

The first few seasons are good, but after the 3rd movie and Goldenrod City you start seeing a dip in the quality of the episodes, due to last minute rewrites to take Celebi out of the series. Before this there were a lot of episodes where Ash and co would meet someone and Team Rocket would show up before blasting off, and the day being saved, but the setting of each episode was unique, the writing was good, and generally filler did not drag on. Mid to late Johto is a chore to sit through because each episode is Ash stumbling upon the pokemon of the week and the character of the week with a problem and before anything can be done, Team Rocket appears, a generic battle happens, they're thwarted, and Ash and co fuck off to the next stop. It's almost always town settings and trainers, and you just give up caring. 4kids certainly did when there was around a 5 episode stretch where the main female CotW for each episode was voiced by the same person with the same delivery. Later Johto around the time Larvitar appears picks up a bit, and the league is decent (Fuck Harrison), but when you get to Hoenn you'll appreciate the freshness, especially once it grows into its own series. Late Hoenn and Battle Frontier are fucking hype as hell, Sinnoh's good with a lot of miniarcs to break up the filler, but some arcs are boring and overall Sinnoh is looooong. I wish they did a battle frontier season in Sinnoh aswell.

Unova starts strong but doesn't really go anywhere, likely because the 2011 earthquake fucked up plans for a Team Rocket vs. Plasma plot set up so instead each team got recycled into smaller plots and a lot of filler got introduced. Zekrom becomes utterly pointless.

Kalos is pretty good, just ignore the waifu wars and other faggotry the fans are having over it currently.

The Kalos Top 4 actually feels like Trainers who are the best of the best. If XY Ash, Alan, Shota, or Louis entered any of the other Leagues they'd be at the top without a doubt.

Kalos has a massive powergap in terms of strength compared to other leagues. Having Mega/Syncro capable Trainers at the top isn't a surprise.

We're obviously dealing with a director's dicksucker here. It's a waste of time trying to argue with him.

This league has been shit so far. We missed half of the first round so we could watch Ash fight some crybaby faggot who couldn't even get eight fucking badges, and now they've skipped 90% of the league. Unova League was worse because it had a fucking filler episode in the middle of it and Cameron exists, but so far this one has been nothing but rushed shite.

Richie was literally Ash's perfect clone, Harrison had no real character when you stop to think of it, Tyson was alright but was defined by his Meowth in boots, Tobias had no character, and Cameron was an idiot.

The dub usually takes the first letter of a characters name and Americanizes it if it isn't a game character.

Masato became Max. Hazuki became Harrison. Tetsuya became Tyson. Masamune became Morrisson. This happened fairly often.

Likewise Shuu became Drew because its prounonced similar and Drew is an american name.
