If I were to guess maybe because she follows the "evil parent" beats Silver and N set up? Even then her not being a trainer already inverts that, since Silver's characterization is about wanting to be the strongest like Blue while N's is about liberation and lies. Calling Lillie generic is a bad faith blanket term people who don't like Lillie's chattiness use on her for why they don't like her, when really SM's biggest issue is being too on rails with too many slow paced cutscenes in general and people want to bully her because she's the character you talk to the most in-game

Like nobody shits on Wicke despite the fact she functionally serves no purpose in the story and does nothing but add more text boxes to this game. She gets excused because she doesn't appear enough to be annoying like Lillie or Hau, and because "she's hot" so people can ignore her uselessness... If they didn't completely forget she existed anyway because of said issue about having no plot purpose

The most bizarre thing though is how they took Lillie's framework and somehow did it worse with Marnie. Everything about SwSh feels like a monumental downgrade of SM and I really do wish we got SwSh shit in the leaks just to see what got rewritten because a game that bad couldn't have been planned to be that bad from the start. We got some aspects of the story that were cut like how Bede was supposed to be more relevant. Which contrasted with SM, Lillie's bio made it into the game wholesale with no real changes

Also, I don't think it's all that accurate to say that neo champions only get given to shill characters when the shill characters are usually packaged with a more niche pick like Bede or Nate and Unova round 2 was two characters who both had no alts before their NCs, especially when the closest arc suits have gotten to a niche character was Lance.

MCs aren't out of the table, Gladion and Lillie are very plausible, Hau and Gladion even more so and most importantly the one who got reformed and wanted to finish his island challenges: Guzma.

I don't disagree, Sinnoh is cooked too due to the game focusing on Arceus lore at the moment. They already used up all of the Legendaries as Sygna Suits and you aren't shilling the Lake Spirits on the same level as the Legendary Birds. That being said it's highly likely we get another Solo NC with Dawn like how Silver cucked Ethan, Lyra and Kris. Maybe they might pull something clever with Heatran/Manaphy/Shaymin Sky again but it'll still come across as filler

That being said, do you even think Alola is in the running? Their only Champion listed is Ash and the MC got Solgaleo. At best you're getting ANOTHER Lillie because Alola and maybe Hau or Gladion because Alola intentionally doesn't have anything to work with. Maybe they'll do something silly and have Acerola + Magearna

Hate to say it but they might have peaked with Galar and Kanto. Paldea is too new for NC stuff and if they did it, it would just be another Nemona, Penny and Arven

Part 9.

Today I infiltrated Po Town and took on Team Skull. I beat Guzma at Po Town but it was a hard fight and I had to resort to switching out pokemon constantly because he kept switching out pokemon constantly. Here is a rundown, Incineroar beat Masquerain, Tsareena beat Golisopod and Mudsdale beat Pinsir. Tough fight. Then I beat the third island Kahuna Nanu. First I had Mimikyu deal the first damage to his Sableye with a Shadow Claw before it lost its disguise and I switched out to Mudsdale to finish it off with Heavy Slam, Tsareena used Leaf Storm on his Krokorok and took it out in one hit and finally Crabrawler used its fighting type z move on his Alolan Persian before using a few Power Up Punches to take it out because Nanu did heal his ace during the battle. Afterwards it was time to infiltrate Aether Foundatioks HQ. I begin taking on Aether Foundation staff members and I then battle against Faba, Mimikyu used its ghost type z move to take down his Hypno in one hit, then I would have to teak up with Hau to take on Faba again along with a grunt, Hau dealt with the grunts two pokemon while my Mimikyu was able to take out Faba's Claydol, my Tsareena took out his Bruxish and Incineroar took out his Hypno. Then finally I go up against Guzma again and this is where things get difficult. I Guzma again but this time it was the hardest battle against him so far. He kept switching out pokemon making things difficult and his Vikavolt took both my Crabrawler and Mudsdale which really complicated things as I have now lost my ace Mudsdale. Luckily enough, Tsareena was able to squish the Vikavolt with a few Stomps here and there, Incineroar took out Masquerain with Flame Thrower, Mimikyu kept tanking hits from Pinsir while I healed my surviving team members before taking out Pinsir with Play Rough and finally Araquanid takes out his Golisopod. I've only got four more pokemon left. Finally I take on the president of Aether Foundation herself

I don't think a normal plate exists outside of Legends Arceus which only needed to add that out of necessity to turn Arceus back to normal form. Anyways the ones I'm iffy on are Adaman, Giovanni, Irida, Rei, Volo, Blue and Red. Fighting if they're pushing that to way last could be Mustard. If rivals are allowed it could be Wally and Gallade. Just like how psychic could then be Hau with Alolan Raichu. I guess then Blue would be allowed. Silver could be ice with Sneasel. Way down the line grass could be Kieran. Though really at this pace I don't think they're actually going to bother with all types and just cover all the champions and handwave the rest.
