It’s the opening sequence with the bridge, the meadow (which she’s not really in danger just lost), rescuing her from Aether (with Gladion and Hau), and then escorting her to the altar for Nebby. Most of her story doesn’t even involve you. Characters like Kukui, Burnet, Hau, Olivia, Hapu, Acerola, & Wicke are helping her more than anything. The only time you’re a bodyguard is when she’s starting to gain her own strength but she obviously can’t scale the wilderness on her own especially that Nebby is inactive as Cosmoem. Most of your time in Alola is away from her. You’re more of a motivator.
