Crispin going "Woo!" fucking kills me.Also yeah, I agree male VAs would pretty much always sound wrong one way or another, while female VAs are at least slightly better on a shota. I think I've only ever heard a single male VA who could vaguely fit Kiki, against the dozens of female VAs I've listened to while waiting for Kiki to get into the game, where I'd often think something along the lines of "yeah if she got hired for Kiki I wouldn't mind"/"fuck yeah she should absolutely voice Kiki". Off the top of my head, the only shotas in the game voiced by men going high-pitched are Hau and Wally, while the others are either women or just men using their normal voices. (I'm exclusively talking about Japanese voice acting here by the way, I know jack shit about English-language VAs.)
I remember someone on /Kiki/ way back in the past who mentioned they could get an actual young boy to voice him, but with youth comes inexperience, and someone that young probably wouldn't have the necessary professional training unless they were in the industry for years already. In other words, even that option could've potentially botched Kiki lol.
