Dead giveaway this is a 2nd playthrough.
Sharpedo is almost decent in gen 3 but is 100% getting boxed for Gyarados/Kyogre, even by literal children. Absol is completely unplayable in gen 3. It has no STAB options because Dark is entirely special, and it has shit tier speed and bulk, so it gets oneshot by everything before attacking, which usually resulted in little damage. Torchic is almost never chosen first in these games either because most assumed Blaziken would be weak to everything (it's not).
Raising a Flygon in gen 3 was done by masochists only. Most were teenagers who already beat the games as children. Trapinch and Vibrava are the worst Pokemon ever conceived in their debut generation. I've probably said this before, but the task is so grueling you begin to doubt that your efforts will result in a Flygon. Maybe it is a mythical Pokemon, and the internet lied to you (this was entirely possible at the time, the internet was full of genuine bullshit and myths everywhere). It causes actual self gaslighting. All of your TMs are also gone by the time you muster the balls to train Vibrava past level 35.
A real babbies first Hoenn team.
>Sceptile >Machoke >Kyogre>Swellow >Raichu >Gyarados 1. Most kids are going to pick the first Pokemon they're offered: Treecko
2. Machop is your only option besides Swellow to defeat Brawly, since you selected Treecko. Grovyle genuinely can't put a dent in him.
3. Kyogre is what everyone catches with the master ball.
4. The first bird Pokemon you saw, and also the only good mon against Brawly.
5. Kids watching the anime want a Pikachu as soon as available, but it's dogshit, so it gets thunderstoned.
6. Gyarados is catchable in multiple places without resorting to training a Magikarp
