>in Legends Arceus we get alphas, pokemon way bigger and stronger than usual who are "filled with wild might">the explanation for these pokemon existing only here and not in other games is that it's a wild land, mostly untouched by humanity, so pokemon thrive more and grow into these>next game is SV, with paradox pokemon from futuristic/primitive themed worlds. The futuristic pokemon (like advanced tech) get smaller than their predecesors, while the primitive pokemon are bigger than their successors>there's even a particular primitive Salamence who looks like a feathered, evil Mega Salamence, and this one too is way bigger than any previous SalamenceWhen Z-A came out we saw alphas returning in modern day Kalos for some reason, and a side quest about alphas where an NPC talks about how hisuians had them and wonder if long ago all pokemon used to be like alphas. Eventually we learn the reason all those pokemon are gathering in Lumiose is Ange, the machine designed to spread the gift of life, and when is time to catch Xerneas (also a life-giver) you locate it because its influence has caused unusual alphas to appear. ORAS also mentions how in ancient times the natural energy was more abundant, and it's this energy where Hoenn's megastones came from, the teraleak even mentions the first mega evolutions were based on the pokemon of this ancient era.
There's a clear connection here, the power of life, the thing Xerneas gives and Yveltal takes, the natural energy of the land in ancient times that Groudon and Kyogre want for themselves, the wilderness that made pokemon grow into alphas, the primitive impulse under which scarlet paradoxes growth, the power that restores Aerodactyl to its original form.
Even Alola's totem pokemon are alpha-like thanks to Alola's light that nourishes all kinds of life.
The theme here is
>stronger monsters = wilderness of nature = life, more abundant in the past
