>>54314451Here comes the "Irisfags" accusation for actually explaining what happened in the show.
>Difference is Iris lost to an "NPC" (Cynthia).Yes and Iris is also an NPC. Hence why she was able to jump into her game role despite it not being implied when she was a MC. She's no longer relevant and therefor the JN writers decided to be autistic with "anything goes".
>Cynthia/Leon/Steven only lost to the MCYes but in Iris's situation. The writers gave no justification why she lacked a gimmick or why Cynthia used one to begin with. Iris' Dragon gifts don't increase her Pokemon's power but instead a mental connection (unless you're willing to say she powered up Ash's Dragonite to defeat her last battle) and she also wouldn't of jobbed to Drayden or Clair if such ability exists. So what was her purpose of being gimickless? Same with Cynthia, why show off Mega Garchomp from the shit battle tree (it's only instance) and a form that's no longer even accessible in SWSH nor can she use in BDSP? It was a clear ploy for Iris that "she lost but hey at least unlike the others she wasn't using a gimmick".
>its basically being second-class compared to the elite champions whom only the Player (or anime MC) has beatenIris lost to Cynthia, because Ash had to battle her. It makes no sense for her to have a rematch with him and lose again and furthermore it would be terrible marketing to not having battle the two Champions of the current generation not battle him. Mindless even.
