>>57555008JN and HZ have the same artstyle. JN is a bit goofier but has some stellar animation towards the beginning. HZ has some fantastic episodes for animation, but lately has been hit with the outsourcing stick a lot of times. If what you disliked about SM was the extreme cartoonishness, you should know that the latest two series definitely move away from that a bit.
Also, if you're kind of an Ash fanboy (since you liked XYZ), JN gives him a lot of wins and shit. His character writing is pretty terrible, however, but there are some cool fights. You might not like his sidekick in that series, Goh, who takes a lot of focus away from Ash, but I found Goh to be the better half of JN. HZ doesn't really have moments where Liko and Roy are that cool, but Friede and Amethio definitely have that over-the-top dramatic shit you probably loved from XYZ.
It's all different flavors of the same sloppo though and don't let anyone tell you any different. Even SM probably has some shit you'd love if you sat through it.
