>>58290455Makes sense. Lillie and Lana both show opposite sides of child characters, with Lillie being the one to be protected and molded, and Lana being the one that's playful and encourages you to see her as a person with desires rather than just someone waiting to grow up. Combined they can make you see a lot more depth in all child character.
Another reason Alola might have hit people so hard is that it's cast has a stepladder all the way down. Mallow looks just like all the pokegirls that people who try to ignore the ages of pokegirls like. She's as tall as misty and the playable pokegirls, she has her own job, but in the anime she goes to the same school as Lillie and Lana. In the games she's a trial captain with Lana and Acerola. Lillie and Lana are the next steps down for naivety and body type respectively, then Harper and Sarah are waiting at the bottom.
It's so devious, I wouldn't blame someone for calling gen 7 a psyop or propaganda. I can't imagine you're the only person who started liking lolis because of them with how popular the alolan girls got.
>Somehow that made me fantasize about how Alolan culture might be open about sex, where sex with someone their age is not taboo.Yeah, islands just make everything hotter. Hard to put my finger on why, but Alola is just a better more immersive setting than the generations around it. Could've put all the same lolis in Kalos and I don't think anyone would've cared nearly as much.
Kind of want to ask more questions, but I don't want to monopolize the thread or bother you too much.
