I've been working (obsessing) over a little project the last few weeks. I'm putting together a region based on Liguria and the French Riviera, here's a little blurb:
> "Riviera is a coastal region southeast of Kalos, celebrated for its dazzling waters and vibrant culture. Once ruled by a noble house tied to the Kalosian monarchy, Riviera’s royalty eventually became sovereign in their own right. Though the crown holds no political authority today, the royal family remains deeply respected as symbolic guardians of the region’s heritage.> Historically, Riviera’s prosperous ports granted its nobles immense economic influence. Today, Count Augustus IV—beloved philanthropist and head of the royal family—funds the region’s Pokémon League and many public institutions.> A cultural crossroads, Riviera blends traditions from neighboring regions into something entirely its own. From quiet fishing villages to glamorous metropolitan hubs, it is famed worldwide for its luxuries: casinos, cuisine, entertainment, and above all, its fierce Pokémon battling scene. Trainers from across the world flock to Riviera to embrace its culture, indulge in its splendor, and test themselves against its greatest challenges." Pic related is the current draft for the region’s gym leaders and "Elite Four". While I personally do like all the ideas, I also think they're a bit too similar? They all operate in the hospitality/glamor/entertainment economy, and imo that homogenizes the regional identity. So I'm looking for opinions on the one's I've got already, to see which ideas stand out more and shouldn't be replaced. If anyone's interested in helping me out, please use the straw strawpoll below and/or give me your thoughts!
