Fan artists and fans only like recent gen characters (gen 7+), and the usual shills and mainstays from older gens like Blue, Steven, Cytnhia, and the protags, and rivals
From what I heard, the Japanese fandom doesn't look at datamines, and they appear to draw "less popular" or more niche characters more often then the west
