>>58572633>>58572931>Thousands of years ago, in the primal age long lost, the world was overflowing with natural energy. Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre fought over that energy in endless, furious clashes.>The great meteoroid was the first of many disasters to befall humanity. When it punched into the planet, the land cracked beneath it, and a great welling of natural energy poured from beneath Hoenn. Thirsting for that energy, Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon once again woke. This tells us natural energy is what fuels Primal Reversion, the mega evolution-like change. Why does it matter? Because after beating the Primal pokemon feeding on the energy on Sootopolis all that natural energy is released into a rain of green light that revitalizes Hoenn, makes new pokemon inhabit the region and new stones appear, Wally's cousin even mentions two megastones randomly appeared on her yard after that light of natural energy
>Do you remember how light came falling out of the sky a while ago? I found this in the yard that day. Actually, I found two, and I gave the other to Wally. It’s a pretty stone, and I’m sure your Pokémon would be delighted if you let one of them hold it!This confirms that megastones don't have to come from space. At all. Why are meteorites important then? Look at the Cave of Origin under Sootopolis. Hoenn is a region with many meteor showers, and when meteors impacted on the land, filled with natural energy in the times of yore, these changed into key stones and megastones.
It's not that Hoenn has space rocks that happen to be mega stones, it's that Hoenn used to be filled with natural energy and the space rocks that punctured earth got changed into mega stones by exposure to the land's energy. The mega stones created after the Primal pokemon's defeat were earthling rocks just bathed by the energy of that green light, just like Kalos mega stones were earthling rocks bathed by the energy of the Ultimate Weapon.
Mega evolution is life itself.
