Laventon is one of the characters that appear the most in PLA, it's at least something. They've shown nothing linking Paldea and Kalos in Z-A trailer outside a few Kingambit statues (Kalos was already full of Bisharp statues back in XY)

Jasmine appeared in DPP, certain Johto specific mechanics returned in DPP like Day/Night encounters and okay about FRLG, that was a mostly faithful remake outside Sevii Islands. But both were still closer to Sinnoh/Hoenn than ZA is to SV in basically every point. There's essentially no connectivity between the two games and TCG went further on and separated the two in different eras (could be argued that this was a technical necessity with how SV base set is going to rotate next year). Even PLA had Laventon as some sort of Galar presence while Z-A seems to stick with Kalos.

GF and TCPi oversee everything that goes on with the anime. It's why Pokemon get early debuts on the show like Zygarde's formes which were repurposed from the additional two Kalos games that were never made.
It's also why we get the occasional anime original thing like Lugia which made it's way into the games after Shudo pitched the idea or Ash-Greninja itself and why GF acknowledge the anime through little cameos/references like Ash's hats being in USUM and SwSh or his photo in Totem Mimikyu's room.

I got off at the very start, limiting the whole game in the city made me lose interest, Kalos has a lot of rly cool biomes and areas that would've great to see expanded upon (like how PLA expanded upon the Great Marsh).

Gen 6 is on the easier side for both a Nuzlocke and regular playthrough. The Kalos gym leaders aren't a threat, the real challenge comes from the regular trainers. ORAS is similar in difficulty, but the Dexnav is so much fun.
Gen 7 is more difficult as a Nuzlocke, especially the Ultra games, but you have to sit through a bunch of cutscenes at the end of every route. Every route, that is not an exaggeration.

If the ashnime were still ongoing, it'd be way cooler because we'd have gotten stuff like ZA Serena, Clemont, Korrina, maybe even Ash in the XY artstyle but now we'll only get the usual Liko and Roy garbage in a Kalos setting, not gonna lie, it feels like a huge waste of a cool game event in terms of how the anime cast that will cover it is gonna be lame as heck

Except that since the Let's Go games you have been able to carry around a portable device that lets you access your box at anytime, no longer needing the kiosk. Kiosks are just a convenient form factor to crate a machine in for public use, especially since the user will likely be standing while using it, it doesn't mean the tech to shrink them down to a watch does not exist. ATMs, digital mall maps, any sort of information kiosk, fast food self-ordering screens, etc, all of those can easily run off one off a watch-sized computer, it's just that it's more convenient to have them as a kiosk when their intended use is for people to publicly walk up to them to use them. (Also a lot less messy to deal with than handing out tablets then getting them back then people are done)

Personally, I would take the Phone-Dex over the weird almost-entirely-made-of-glass thing they had for Kalos. Though I would still take the glass over the awful looking Rotom-Dex.
