But they never bothered doing that again, and Kanto ends up making the experience feel like a worse what if instead of a genuine evolution to the franchise. It's exactly how PLA had an insane amount of improvements to the gameplay loop, and then had nearly none of them implemented or improved upon in SV, or even being made worse. As an 8 year old it was really cool to go back to Kanto, but years later on replay it ends up making Johto feel lacking due to its inclusion.
