Honestly any version of the A9 deck that isn't araquanid is trash. You rely so heavily on going second or having mantyke on the field first, otherwise it's too easy for opponents to build up a backline then attack when all you're doing is a paltry 80 with no real upside since they already have energy.

Araquanid+Lana though...fuck that deck.

Terapagos is the only good Special normal type if you don't have Academy Gladion.
Towers are the 'main' mode for now so almost every new pairs released since then are oriented to fill a niche NY Lana for Support Dragon Type, Variety Lance and Charizard for Physical Flying and so on, even Anni Gloria feel like an excuse because Rock types have jack shit Support.
