Steven got reworked in ORAS by also telling a little more of lore with his first encounter, although Zinnia and Wallace did that too. Then there were Alder and Iris, they did nothing for the most, just some walkthrough and story scenes. Diantha absolutely did nothing, zero, literally invisible non-character, Alola had no league or champions historically, the role was spread between kahunas. Galar's Leon was just a part of the plot and Charizard wanking, and then there's Paldea, the league is a meme with toddlers and Champion is just a category, probably all the former students of the academy are treated as such, disastrous lore and champion roles, school non sense as if it was the only notable thing and activity in that region.
