>>58619618Hey, think about Dawn during Journeys as an example for why I picked option one. She was the most reoccuring character from the nostalgia batch which was the selling point BUT:
>Completely static progression freeze for her, e.g no tangible progress made for her even off-screen>Pokemon Team was unchangedAnd was only picked up and dragged around whenever advertisment dates for gen 4 games were around the corner, often leaving her as the one to tag around without a notable or memorable contribution of her own. Whenever you see compilations of Dawn's best moments on Youtube or any other platform nowadays, her parts in Journey are often less than 5% of the average 5 to 10 minutes from those compilation videos and none of the scenes were often even picked because they were made great BY her.
Taking that into account, the approach of using the characters if and only IF they have atleast a few steps or ideas in mind for them is better than Journey fumbling the bag with nostalgia appearances which became so jarring and inconsistent in delivery that the last missing one Cilan had to be outsourced into MPM to fulfill the promise of the guy who was responsible for JN's direction.
If they add Kieran, I'd want him to have a role or two that isn't just shoe-horned nonsense for his face to just be there.
