They DID have a Latias centered plot in mind, the Rocket episode WAS meant to be part of their big finale, etc etc. Surprisingly he got one bit right, and that was the part about MPM not being fully centered on the meaning of Pokémon Master, as the docs revealed they always intended that to be the focus for the last two episodes.
