TPC has mastered the art of cute meme mons and waifu/husbandos and this is what it gets them money. There is Kanto pandering in merch, animated shorts, etc but it's always the Pokemon and barely anything about the trainers besides Red and Green because while people still cling to the old mons, the human characters have been getting more and more popular and yes, they are popular with fujos and otakus but they actually give money tho TPC, not some balding 40 years old that watched the anime in their hecking childhood
