>>57130953>Do you remember how you were introduced to it?Yep, the cards and kids in school. First game on the GBA was Sapphire.
>Did everyone bring Game Boys and actually play the card games? We all talked about the cards. Only knew a handful who had the games.
>Was it the majority of kids, and were girls into it too?Everyone, but mostly the guys by what I remember.
>Did you watch the show after school? From time to time yeah, didn't watch much non-educational TV after school as a kid
>How did it die offNever did, really. Just people considered themselves too old.
Also, I didn't live during that time of Pokémania (tfw 2002), but I can tell you a fun fact.
In 2000, during the whole "Satanic Panic" thing surrounding Pokémon, people wrote to the Pope about the Church's view on its religious/moral implications. After review, Pope-St. John Paul II himself gave the Catholic Church's blessing to Pokémon saying the games "did not have any harmful moral side effects" and were instead "based on ties of intense friendship".
>“Today, I would like to extend a special blessing to all the Pokémon and their trainers. May they bring joy and happiness to the lives of our young people.” -Pope-St. John Paul II on 8 November 2000.
