New Gold and Silver remake by ILCA is in the works, will be revealed this year. Has been a thing since around the same time Brillant Diamond and Shining Pearl started being made. It will be very similar to BDSP, but will use HeartGold and SoulSilver code instead of Diamond and Pearl code

There doesn't seem to be anything planned for Unova or Gen V as of yet or at least I haven't heard, I wouldn't expect anything before some time. BDSP and the new Johto game are the only two ILCA has been working on for now. I also haven't heard about anything regarding a new Let's Go or Legends inspired game, I wouldn't expect that to happen at all.

I do know about another game however, not technically a Pokémon game but a new Smash Bros game is in the works, set to release on Nintendo's next console. It's still very early on and probably won't be revealed before some time, however I know that Tinkaton will be a playable character in it.

I loved playing Pearl in 2009 but, unlike gen 3, I've never been able to replay it. The Pokemon designs in Sinnoh are not my favourite even if the region is memorable. Maybe my new year's resolution will be to finally replay them 15 years later. No desire to start a genwar btw, just sharing my thoughts.

Every Pokémon game has a “Pika-clone” - In Ruby and Sapphire, it was Plusle and Minun. Diamond and Pearl had Pachirisu. Later came Emolga, Dedenne, Togedemaru and Morpeko. Pikotton is a parody of this trend.

If there was merch for this game, Pikotton plushies would be on the rage. Its in-game Pokédex entry reads, “Pikotton are very popular pets for children.” A jab at Pokémon’s monopoly on cute toys?

You should mostly avoid the Switch games and gen 6. Most likely the good/best game you'll find are between gen 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 depending on what you enjoy most in a Pokemon game.

No, she is easy to defeat the first time you meet her in diamond and pearl. Red's battle in silver/gold is harder, even her ancestor with his double Giratina (8 pokemon) is more difficult to beat than her.
If you then want to cope with lvl averages instead of difficulty SV shits on her more than once

I still don't see the point in Grumpig existing. I am old enough to remember when Gen 3 was releasing and getting hyped up at how interesting a design and name Spoink was. And then it just becomes... whatever the fuck Grumpig is. If they wanted to do the pearls before swine pun, there were a million better ways to do it and still incorporate the springiness and oddity that is Spoink. I could easily imagine an alternative Grumpig that gains the Steel type, a spring coil around its entire body, and the "pearl" becomes some sort of wrecking ball it launches at full force by coiling up. How much cooler would that have been?

I consider it more of a tech demo. It's technically finished but the end product is extremely underwhelming and gives off a feeling of what could've been than enjoying what it actually did. Theres interesting ideas but none of them are fleshed out or executed well.

In a way it reminds me of Diamond and Pearl where the engine was really clunky and slow but SV are obviously much worse with it's technical problems.
