Diamond and Pearl are more slow. Gen 7 is a pacing nightmare though because they keep stopping you from playing to show cutscenes or do some tutorial.

I played those three games within a month of one another. Yellow was the first video game I ever played, but I was too young to really know what I was doing.
Diamond was my first actual pokemon game, and then when I beat it my brother gave me his firered to play through after he transferred his pokemon into his pearl.

C tier are games that were ok. They were definitely pokemon games. I played a lot of Y during my high school psychology back because our teacher just didn't give a fuck. First time getting into comp pokemon because I wasn't the only one playing in class. The tournaments in that class were a lot of fun but I remember being so mad there wasn't really anything to do after you beat the game.

Alola is probably my favorite region but man I felt so ripped off with ultra moon.
My sister bought eevee and it was fun sequence breaking but after a while I got sick of it.
I love the new scarlet pokemon but playing the game actually feels horrible because of the horrendous framerate, loading, etc.

i caught a buneary and down the rabbithole i went looking up lopunny r34. eventually down the line this led to me finding out that 4chan had a new pokemon board and now i'm stuck here forever

it doesn't, these are respectable reasons.
also the pokemon missing from platinum are split across diamond and pearl, so you'd need all three games to complete the dex if you started there.

This is going to sound very autistic, but I’m truly not like the rest of you, I don’t think of games like DP as being worse from Platinum, just different, and I play both on different occasions for different reasons. In this case I’m playing Pearl for a few reasons
>I want to use a few Pearl exclusives like Purugly and Mismagius who I’ve never used before
>DP has a more lenient overall level curve due to the increased non-linearity and this is more suitable to the type of playthrough I’m doing where I’ll be shuffling around a lot more than 6 mons.

I just started a catch em all run of Pearl actually, where I fill out the regional dex as I playthrough the game (picrel), and will be trading over version exclusives from a finished Diamond save that I use to store all my mons from gen 3 and 4 games.
