Pokemon Scarlet - $60 then DLC $35, $95 total, or $80 for the bundle.
Thing is, if you had Scarlet and Violet you'd need to buy the DLC for both games. The $80 lower price is for waiting for the complex version to come out, whereas you could have just waited for Plaitnum in Gen 4 for $40, or $60 accounting for inflation, by that logic.
But it does come out cheaper, and you don't have to play through 99% the exact same game to experience the new content.
Can someone explain why despite this truth, I still prefer the third versions? It may just be dumb nostalgia or somany years of praising them, but idk.
All I can really think of is that I've never liked that feeling of playing the game and seeing obviously later added dlc stuff advertised. Feels so disjointed. Like getting attacked by the Dark Brotherhood in Morrowind. Like you can feel it was added content, almost feels like interacting with a mod or something.
Thing is, I did always acknowledge that the third versions were GF selling us the same game twice. My friends and I just laughed about it like damn we're retarded for buying and playing these games. Thing is though, I really kinda liked playing the game again but different, like a little remix is nice and I liked that they changed details from start to finish even if they were small.
Platinum btw saved Sinnoh to me, yeah it's still quite flawed but there was enough to like about it that I wanted to in DP, Plat made it work, at least for me. Thanks for pokedex fix, optimized gameplay in general, battle frontier, etc.
The dlc in SV did not help optimize the games, fix the base game problems, or change anything about the base game to give you even a stupid reason to replay it.
