Shining Revelery almost felt like a soft relaunch with it adding so much shit for a single card pack. Hell people still pull it to this day for the gold Poke Ball and shiny Charizard. They even had that "get a free starter deck" thing no other pack has had.

I'm sorry but after finally completing a pkm X playthrough I can't hate Greninja, his moves, animations, and the contrast between his serious battle pose and how goofy he looks in Poke-ammie it's just too much to not love.
Also his move pool is decently varied and you can play him as a physical or a special attacker.
He's just a fun Pokemon all around.

could make an interesting plot point if someone who cultivated aura tried to spread it to others and pioneered human TMs.

There was an episode where Ash turned into a pikachu. What if you could unlock a poke-form and slowly start to use moves while human instead of in your pokeform.
"Unlocking your pokeform" could be an entire plot point of a fic.
A journey where trainers are starting to realize just how much effort pokemon put in, and a potential prelude to mystery dungeon where all the humans disappeared.

not a bad idea, I've seen a protagonist like that
but to write a villain like that, you really gotta be smarter than the audience; to abuse foreshadowing so it IS something that can be put together beforehand

For legendaries, it kinda sucks but that's why Synchronize exists (unless you play Ruby/Sapphire, or the mon you want is a roamer).
Also someone mentionned the post game facilities. If you want to go all the way up there, you can put some extra little effort in just...catching another one. Poké Balls are cheap. Some people EV train their mons for these, which is more painful than just going for another nature.

Most of old mega stones are bought for poke or mega crystals
A handful are only obtained through online battles: hoenn and kalos starters and baxcalibur

Phenomena. See a blade of grass rustling, or a dust cloud in a cave? You could either find a rare Pokemon such as the Elemental Monkeys, fully evolved pseudo-legendaries such as Dragonite and Metagross, or rare items such as Gems and Evolution Stones. Alternatively you could find an Audino for a bunch of EXP, if you need it.
>Berry Farming
Join Avenue allows you to buy berries in bulk. Much better than waiting for hours, micromanaging every berry patch you planted berries in, only to barely get any berries in return.
