>if you don't use any of these, because i'm only planning to use kalos pokemon as in all my first playthroughs, is the difficulty level not the same as any other pokemon game? No, XY is still the easiest Pokemon game even without using mega evolution or xp share. This is because of a few reasons
>Lucky egg The lucky egg is the most powerful item in any Pokemon game, even more powerful than mega stones. It very easily overlevels your team and furthers trivializes the game. In previous Pokemon games this item is a rare drop rate off of an uncommon Pokemon, so the likely hood of getting during your playthrough of the campaign is pretty low. But in XY a NPC gives you one during the main campaign, and it makes the already easiest Pokemon game even easier.
>But Gen 5 did that tooThe difference is Gen 5 had a mechanic that decreased the xp you got if you fought Pokemon too low level, so it canceled out the over leveling power of the lucky egg. No such mechanic exists in XY
>O powers More powerful than mega evolutions. Just pick level 2 Attack or Special Attack on a good sweeper, and breeze through any fight you think might be slightly challenging. Unlike X items, they cost no money and do not take up a turn to use them in battle and can increase a stat by up to 3 stages a turn. There is no obscure prerequisite to obtaining these either, just talk to the pedophiles you find in the different corners of Kalos and they give them to you.
There are various little things about Kalos that make the game easier or more confident too, like certain powerful items being accessible early like x items, poke nurses being found in routes, your own Pokemon having access to a much wider range of moves then they would have in older entries(and in my opinion enemy teams do not take advantage of this), etc. These little things add up together to make XY feel easier even without anything I talked about above.
