>energy discard seems incredibly mediocreThat is what everyone thought be we forget that 1 energy at the end of the game is nearly meaningless when you are getting a KO, think of Ninetales or Yanmega, if it's helping you win you will just keep winning.
Also they have good synergy against the meta, they can handle all the psychic and water decks, not to mention all the birds.
