Misty might never get that closure.As much as shippers seemed to be flying high after reading the comments from Yuyama on episode 2 yesterday, I actually feel less optimistic about any plan for Misty/Brock after reading the translation of the full interview today.
>It started with the idea of tracing Satoshi and Pikachu's journey one more time. When it came to his travelmates, we basically just went "Gotta be Takeshi and Kasumi I guess". It was such a natural desicion I don't really remember exactly how we arrived at it. I like that trio, those two just kind of fit into the group, and it makes Satoshi's 10-year-old-boy-ness very pronounced. We wanted to depict world battling champion Satoshi as temporarily forgetting about everything he's been through on his journey and just living the life of a 10 year old boy again.They are the obvious companions for the final leg of the journey, bringing it full circle and all that, but that line of reasoning doesn't make one think that there's any plan to tie up any loose ends for Brock or Misty (Brock finally figuring out the ladies, Misty getting bogged down with her sisters' responsibilities + Pokeshipping).
Brock in particular has been almost completely sidelined, basically used for set dressing and exposition. Misty has had opportunities to shine in 2, 7, and 8, but I'm uncertain that it's building toward anything more than that - shipping or otherwise.
But I could be reading too much into things, and there could be a lot that happens in these last three episodes.
