Truthfully speaking 4kids has never screwed up the character dynamics. Every time they change the translation the original intent is still thematically intact.
Pokemon 2000 for example, every single version of the melody/misty banter is structurally the same despite the constant claims that 4kids is "shoehorning" in stuff.
Even the Jirachi Wishmaker quote, arguably the biggest example of 4kids adding pokeshipping, is still completely in character and arguably more logical conversation than the original
